11-30-23 busy year for fdl parks

The Fond du Lac Public Works director says 2023 was a busy year for park improvements throughout the city of Fond du Lac.  Paul DeVries updated the advisory park board at their meeting this week.  DeVries says several major projects were completed at Lakeside Park.   “The Lighthouse renovation and then right in that same neighborhood, Lighthouse Drive and making it a safer bike and pedestrian-way for those users,”  DeVries told WFDL news.  “There’s a new piece of playground equipment by Main Street just north of the zip-line area.  That was put in within the last month.”   DeVries says improvements have been made at other city parks as well.   Improvements include the Miracle League baseball diamond and all-accessible playground at Plamore Park, a music garden at Hamilton Park,  and mural and playground at Franklin Park.   DeVries says a major project next year will be a bridge connecting Lakeside Park to Lakeside Park West.
