The former Fond du Lac St. Agnes Hospital president begins her new job this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Katherine Vergos stepped down from SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital after accepting a job as the market president for Common Spirit Health In Las Vegas. Vergos says leaving Fond du Lac for a new opportunity is bittersweet. Vergos told AM 1170s Between the Lines program her time with Agnesian HealthCare and SSM Health has been an absolute wonderful journey. “I am so grateful to be on (Between the Lines) to express my sincere gratitude. As a Catholic healthcare leader in those communities, you can’t do that without the support of so many people,” Vergos said. Vergos says during her tenure in Fond du Lac she is most proud of being able to carry on the legacy of the Sisters of St. Agnes. Vergos was instrumental in the opening of the new Ripon Community Hospital in 2014 as the Chief Operating and Nursing Officer. She helped lead St. Agnes Hospital as president through the COVID-19 pandemic.
