5-24-24 thelma street concerts

(Fond du Lac, WI) – Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) will again present a major national act onstage outside THELMA at 51 Sheboygan St., Fond du Lac, Wis., on a Saturday evening this summer. However, THELMA upped the ante this year by booking not just one but two major street concerts.  “These bands play classics that withstand the test of time and speak across generations,” said Shannon Kupfer, THELMA executive director and curator. “We’re thrilled to present both groups, and we think they’ll be an excellent way to spend a Saturday night in downtown Fond du Lac.”   Lou Gramm: the Original Voice of Foreigner, will rock the THELMA outdoor stage on Saturday, July 27. Gramm has been touring the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as performing occasional dates off the continent, steadily since January 2004.   As of 2013, Gramm continues to tour with his band, performing many of his old Foreigner hits. In May 2013, Triumph Books released Gramm’s autobiography Juke Box Hero: My Five Decades in Rock ‘n’ Roll.   The show will start at 7 PM on July 27, with the bar and gates opening beforehand. The concert is free and open to the public, excluding VIP tickets. VIP tickets to the Lou Gramm show cost $50.    On August 3, One Night of Queen will grace the THELMA stage for yet another summer Saturday street concert. For over 20 years, Gary Mullen and The Works have been performing their world-renowned One Night of Queen live concert.   Gary Mullen & The Works, featuring Gary Mullen on vocals, David Brockett on guitar, Malcolm Gentles on keyboards, Jon Halliwell on drums, and Alan McGeoch on bass guitar, will have patrons dancing in the street during their show, while the band pays tribute to the spectacular stage theatrics, showmanship, and music of arguably the greatest rock band of all time: Queen.   Similar to the July 27 show, the One Night of Queen concert is free and open to the public, excluding VIP tickets. VIP tickets to the One Night of Queen show cost $25.  The VIP section is closest to the stage, giving premier views. It will have its own portable bathroom within the section and its own cash bar so VIP ticketholders will not have to walk down the street. Chairs will not be permitted in the VIP section for safety reasons, in the event of an emergency. Exceptions are made for medical devices such as wheelchairs or walkers.  Member discounts will not be available for the VIP tickets for these events, as they are fundraisers for THELMA.  In addition to these two major national acts, THELMA will also welcome several other bands on Saturdays throughout the summer. On June 15, 107.1 The Bull will again present Driftwood, a popular local country band, at THELMA. On August 17, the much acclaimed and nationally touring Armchair Boogie will play THELMA.  Each of these additional shows will have a $5 cover. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. All shows begin at 7 PM.
