10-3-14 man who got into fight with fdl police officer in trouble again

An Oshkosh man who got into a scuffle with a Fond du Lac police officer was in trouble again shortly after he was released from jail.  The man appeared in court and Judge Gary Sharpe ordered a signature bond. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says officers were called to the Gratitude Club on Ruggles Street this week after the man became unruly and threatened others in the building.  When an officer arrived the man jumped out of his car and began fighting with the officer even after the officer deployed a Taser.  Klein told WFDL news after the man was released from jail he allegedly made harassing telephone calls to the Gratitude Club in violation of his bond conditions.  Klein says he’s concerned that someone who attacked a police officer and threatened others was released on a signature bond.  “It is frustrating for law enforcement when you have a subject that caused a disturbance, broke a glass and was threatening people, and then assaults law enforcement and then is released on a signature bond,”  Klein said.  “There is some concern about that with public safety.  If he is going to fight with law enforcement, what else is he capable of?  I think our citizens need to take a stance on this and say to our judges lets get tough on crime.”
