Nobody was injured when a high powered rifle accidentally discharged in a Waupun apartment over the weekend. Police chief Dale Heeringa says officers were called to the Whispering Oaks apartment complex at 450 E. Franklin St. Saturday after receiving a report of shots fired. Heeringa says the gun accidentally discharged while the owner was attempting to clean the weapon. Heeringa says at this time it appears the round stayed in the apartment. Heeringa says its fortunate that nobody was injured.
