6-29-15 three vehicle crash in dodge county sends seven to the hospital

On 06-28-15 at 4:33pm, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sth 33, west of the intersection with Cth P in the Township of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin. Preliminary investigation shows that Froma Gerharz (62 years old, from Cudahy) had stopped her Toyota on Sth 33 (eastbound) to conduct a left/north turn into a private business parking lot.  There were 3 additional occupants in the Toyota.   Melanie Anzia (41 years old, from Mayville) was operating a Chevrolet east on Sth 33, approaching the rear of the Toyota.  The front of the Chevrolet struck the rear of the Toyota, forcing the Toyota into the westbound traffic lane.  While in the westbound traffic lane, the Toyota struck a westbound  Dodge Van, operated by Jefferey Muenchow (63 years old, from Horicon).  There was one additional occupant in the Dodge Van.  Occupants in the Toyota:  Austin Gerharz (7 years old), Joslyn Gerharz (6 months old) and Froma Gerharz were transported with non-life threatening injuries to St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.  Donald Matlock (60 years old, from Cudahy) was flown from the scene by Flight for Life helicopter to Summit Hospital.   The only occupant in the Chevrolet, Melanie Anzia was transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Occupants in the Dodge:  Jefferey Muenchow and Karen Muenchow (61 years old, from Horicon) were transported with non-life threatening injuries to St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.  Sth 33 west of Cth P was closed for more than 2 hours while the crash was being investigated..
