Commonwealth Companies of Fond du Lac plans to purchase two catholic school buildings and convert the buildings into apartments. A press release from Holy Family Catholic Community says Holy Family and Commonwealth have reached an agreement on an offer to purchase St. Joseph School on East Second Street and St. Mary School on E. Merrill Avenue. Both schools will be vacated at the end of this school year when students move to the newly constructed St. Mary’s Springs Academy complex on Highway K. Closing on the sale of the buildings is anticipated by the middle of next year. Commonwealth Companies plans to convert the school buildings into residential apartment housing. St. Joseph Church and St. Mary Church, which are adjacent to the school buildings, are not part of the sale.
