Steve Koehler admits he is very excited but more than a little nervous about returning to perform in his hometown. His last performance was in 1983, a Goodrich High School production of Mousetrap directed by Jane Christiansen.  He will be back February 11 and 12 when Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts and Go Fish Productions, along with sponsors Horicon ank, C.D. Smith, Spies Painting and The Goldsmith bring you “Guys on Ice” during the Sturgeon Spectacular.  This hilarious and charming Wisconsin-based musical about ice fishing has been performed thousands of times at theatres including the Milwaukee Rep, the Barrymore in Madison, and others in Door County. It has also been replayed on Public Television.     “Guys on Ice on Ice” once again features Doug Mancheski, who is an original cast member, and Koehler.   They have performed the comedy together over a thousand times—including for Wisconsin Public Television.  “’Guys on Ice’ has a simplicity and charm that draws people back again and again–nobody more than me and Doug,” Koehler said.  With songs such as “De Wishing Hole”, “Fish is de Miracle Food”, and “Ode to a Snowmobile Suit” (complete with a zipper dance routine), “Guys on Ice” isn’t just an uplifting comedy full of laughs, it’s a journey into the secret culture of Northern Wisconsin ice fishermen.    “Guys on Ice on Ice” will be performed February 11 (2 pm and 7 pm) and February 12 (2 pm) inside a heated tent. The tent will be placed just off the shore near the Pavilion in Lakeside Park.    Tickets are available at the THELMA Box Office and at thelmaarts.org. For the Matinee performances, general admission tickets (bleacher seats) are $15 and VIP seats (chairs with heated cushions) are $20. For the performance Saturday evening, general admission tickets are $20 and VIP for the Saturday evening performance are SOLD OUT. All sales are final. And be sure to dress for the ice.
