1-26-18 tobacco control report card

A new tobacco control report card shows Wisconsin is falling behind in efforts to reduce tobacco use.  The American Lung Association’s 2018  “State of Tobacco Control” report gave Wisconsin an A in only one category…smokefree workplace laws. But Donna Wininsky with the Lung Association in Wisconsin says the state received a D and three Fs in the other categories.  Wisconsin received a D grade for the level of tobacco taxes, and an F in funding for raising the minimum age of sale to 21 along with  prevention and cessation programs.
