With school out for the summer more Fond du Lac outdoor facilities are reopening or increasing their operations over the next several weeks during the coronavirus pandemic. City manager Joe Moore park rentals, most restrooms and sport facilities are now open to the public with the exception of the lighthouse. Taylor Park swimming pool reopens next week. Moore says there will be capacity restrictions at the Taylor Park swimming pool. Moore says as the summer wears on his biggest concern is what he calls COVID fatigue, or forgetting that the threat is still real. The July Fourth fireworks have been cancelled. Fond du Lac Area Transit has resumed all regular routes. Passengers are asked to load through the back door when possible until July first and avoid the first three seats behind the driver. The Fond du Lac Senior Center continues to offer take-out dining and is working toward reopening some programs on July first.
