The announcement by governor Tony Evers this week concerning  the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public illustrates the frustration in the distribution of the vaccine from the federal government.   Up until now health officials were hoping to distribute the vaccine to the general public starting in March or early April.   This week governor Evers estimated that members of the general public won’t be vaccinated until June.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it’s the governor’s best guess at this point.  “We do have to follow the direction of the state when we go from phase 1A to phase 1B,”  Mueller told WFDL news.  “I think it is important to understand that if we can vaccinate folks, we’re going to get them vaccinated.”  Mueller notes that things take a little bit longer, and the vaccine is not mandatory.
