12-14-21 fdl state representative thiesfeldt says no plans to run for public office again

Fond du Lac Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says the timing is right for him to step down from the state legislature.  Thiesfeldt announced last week that he is not going to run for re-election last fall.  Thiesfeldt says he’s been thinking about doing this for a while.  Thiesfeldt says when the opportunity to go back to Winnebago Lutheran Academy came up he decided to make the move.  After serving on the city council and state legislature, the 55 year old Thiesfeldt says he has no plans to run for elected office in the future.  “Often times when you are serving in office people think you are looking to climb to the next higher level,”  Thiesfeldt told WFDL news.  “I really don’t have any other elective plans,”  Thiesfeldt said.  Thiesfeldt says one of his proudest accomplishments during his time in the legislature was expansion of the school choice program.
