5-19-23 canada wildfire haze over wisconsin

Smoke from western Canada wildfires is causing hazy skies across Wisconsin this week.  National Weather Service meteorologist Paul Collar says over a hundred wildfires in western Canada provinces are causing a large smoke plume to reach large swaths of the Great Lakes region including Wisconsin.  Collar says the smoke gets lofted into the atmosphere and could linger into Saturday.  Warm and dry conditions have caused a greater risk of fire weather in far northeastern Wisconsin.
