9-6-23 downtown fdl partnership seeking board of directors applications

The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership (DFP) is seeking candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board is composed of eleven voting members. The new Board member will serve a three-year term beginning on January 1, 2023.  Board members are eligible to serve two consecutive terms, with the expectation that a member will commit to six years of service. A member who has served two complete terms is eligible to be re-elected to the Board after a one-year hiatus.  The members of the Board of Directors shall be comprised of small and large property owners or their designee. Property owners must provide written support of their designee. A reasonable combination of small, large and types of businesses shall be maintained. One voting member may be a representative from a non-assessed property from within the BID district.   The DFP is an entity of the City of Fond du Lac, therefore all board candidates must be approved by Fond du Lac City Council. All members are annually required to fill out a conflict of interest form and confidentially statement. Board members must commit to the following:
• Be an advocate for the organization. Demonstrate active leadership and support to ensure the program is appropriately funded to meet its operational responsibilities and programming goals.
• Make a personal financial investment (in-kind or monetarily) in the program.  This could include volunteering to work at special events.
• Serve on a DFP or City of Fond du Lac committee or task force.
• Support donor relationships, retention, and/or recruitment. Make direct solicitations on behalf of the organization.
• Attend a minimum of 75% of Board meetings. Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Fox Valley Savings Bank.
• Complete the Wisconsin Main Street Board of Director’s Orientation (online)
