12-24-14 christmas caroling at st. agnes

For the past 25 years, members of the Teofilo family, along with Moser family members, have continued an annual tradition of gathering family and friends to go Christmas caroling at Fond du Lac’s  St. Agnes Hospital. Pat Teofilo says for all these years, the group comes together to carol at St. Agnes Hospital entertaining patients their families and hospital employees.  “I think its just kind of fun to do something for other people during the holidays,”  Teofilo told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “You get so busy getting ready for Christmas and making all the preparations sometimes you lose sight of some things that are important.  Caroling at the hospital has become something that we all enjoy doing and it just feels like a good thing to do.”   Although most patients want to be home by Christmas, there are always those unable to do so.    Sunday a group of about 30 carolers, accompanied by Steve Moser on guitar, walked the hospital halls performing.  A second generation has grown up caroling with the group, having joined them before they were old enough to walk.     Each year, there are patients who join the carolers to listen or sing along. Sometimes they follow the group. Hospital caroling has become a favorite holiday tradition for the carolers who perhaps enjoy the experience as much or more than the patients.
