2-24-15 right to work-senate majority leader

The senate majority leader says he’s confident making Wisconsin a right to work state will help the economy and give workers more freedom to choose whether they want to pay union dues.   State senator Scott Fitzgerald says debate will begin this week in the senate and could be on the governor’s desk in two weeks.  “I think its a game changer.  I think this really opens up the economy in Wisconsin and when you talk to people involved in sight selection on expanding or locating this is one of the first things that comes up,”  Fitzgerald told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  Fitzgerald says the bill also protects Wisconsin companies that operate in other states that have right to work laws.  Fitzgerald says he disagrees with opponents who argue the laws are deisgned to cripple unions and lead to worse pay and benefits for workers.
